Safety and security have always been an issue among those who volunteer abroad especially in developing nations like India. This is because we sometimes hear of cases where volunteer’s safety is compromised while doing their work abroad. But this rarely happens in India.
India is a relatively safe place for volunteers. In fact, every year, it has a regular influx of volunteers from around the world. It is even considered one of the best volunteer destinations in Asia. Moreover, volunteer organizations in India such as Volunteering India also implement certain measures for the safety and security of volunteers.
Before volunteers are sent, volunteer organizations ensure that there is political stability in the country. They monitor if there are current uprisings or any national issues that can compromise the safety of volunteers. When everything is okay, that is the only time when volunteers will receive the clearance to proceed with volunteering work India. Before the date of the flight, volunteers normally undergo pre-flight orientations to help them get acquainted with the information concerning their placement, security issues they may encounter, and other important concerns about security and safety. Once already in India, most volunteer organizations also arrange airport pick-up to ensure that volunteers will safely reach their destination. Placement locations as well as accommodation are also normally safe.
Aside from the safety measures, most volunteer organizations in India also offer round-the-clock helpdesk that will entertain various concerns including safety and security problems.
There are many volunteer opportunities in India that you can be a part of. If security issues are holding you back, then you can be assured that India will be a safe place for volunteers.
