When the wall came down on November 9, 1989, it was divided into large sections that Germany gave as gifts and into smaller chunks that people sold as souvenirs. There are advantages and
disadvantages to that because if you want to visit the Berlin Wall, you don't necessarily have to go to Berlin; but, if you do go, you have to know where to look The twentieth anniversary of when
the wall was torn down November 9, 2009, making this the perfect year to visit the Berlin Wall. For over twenty-five years, the Berlin Wall divided a city and served as a glaring example of the
horrors of the Cold War.
