Wackenhut Security Officer Security Shoots Himself at Border Patrol HQ

Security Guard Job News - A worker for a Border Patrol contractor shot himself Wednesday morning at the agency's headquarters at Davis-Monthan AFB.

The worker has been moved to a nearby hospital with non life-threatening injuries, Tucson Police spokesman Sgt. Matt Ronstadt said.

Details surrounding the accident were not immediately available. The man works for a Border Patrol contractor called Wackenhut Security.

Wackenhut is a subsidiary of British-based security giant G4S PLC. According to its website, the Border Patrol contract they're under is worth $250 million over five years.

Wackenhut, based in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.



The Wackenhut Security Officers working with the Border Patrol are presently represented by the International Union, Security Police and Fire Professionals of America SPFPA.
