What did we do to deserve this? Pennsylvania went for Obama in a big way, Arlen Specter just jumped ship and joined our ranks, and now we have the Torturer-in-Chief deciding to set foot in the dear old Keystone State?

I wouldn't even have heard about this, it seems, if I hadn't just driven by the big LED sign outside Erie's new Bayfront Convention Center, but there it was, "George W. Bush, June 17, 2009" in big bright lights.

I guess the Manufacturer's and Business Association has decdided to mark their 104th Annual Event with the presence of a full-on war criminal.

The Manufacturer & Business Association’s 104th Annual Event
5:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2009
Bayfront Convention Center
Erie, Pennsylvania
Keynote Speaker:
George W. Bush
43rd President of the United States

Hurry up and make your reservations, I'm sure tickets will sell out faster than a GOP congressman in need of lobbyist donations:

2009 Annual Event Table Reservation (tables of eight)
Premium, $1,500
Preferred, $1,250
Main, $1,100

Maybe Eric Holder will show up to make a high-profile arrest? Erie sure could use the publicity. Hopefully some people will get together to protest against torture and war crimes. "We the People" indeed.

That's the only one I'd pay for.

Looking back through the Bush years for his Positive Accomplishments is, for me, like picking through my toddler's diaper for the undigested corn. - Thers

fucking asshole. Hope you enjoy that we rejected your criminal treasonous regime twice.

The Rethug Party are anti-American traitors. The Congressional Rethugs form a fifth column intent on destruction of America.

who is the head of the Manufacturers and Business Association of Erie, and the website doesn't seem to list the names of the people in charge of the organization. But I have been told that he is one of Bush's remaining 20%, so naturally he would jump at the chance to have Bush come and talk.

Sooner or later somebody was going to do this. I'm just sad and angry that it's happening where I live.

were otherwise engaged. You've got to admit, it doesn't appear as though people are lining up to book Junior. He's got to rebuild those old coffers, right?

Seriously, I feel for Erie. Not only will you be subjected to the presence of this idiot criminal. You'll be paying for the privilege by having to provide security, etc. I'll be praying for you all. It's not much but it's all I've got right now....

Erie did anything bad. Just bad luck is all?

Sorry that you have to have that man pass through your time.

I wouldn't be happy about it if I were you either.

But I have it worse, I live in Texas (Central Texas).
