Special Feature: Race and Urban Planning

This work was written and recorded by Ellen Pierson as a part of the American Studies program at Kenyon College, with studio production by Matt Toups.

Calendar of Events

And now we present the Indymedia Calendar of Events:

• Tuesday the 25th, Pittsburgh will be joining over 73 other cities around the country to hold a vigil to mark the 4,000 soldiers killed in Iraq. This event will also be held to remember wounded soldiers and all the innocent Iraqis who have been killed and injured as well. This event will take place at 6:00 pm at the corner of Penn and Highland Avenues in East Liberty. For more information please call the AFSC office at 412 371 3607

• THURSDAY, MARCH 27th at 7PM, The Annual Meeting of the Pittsburgh ACLU will be keynoted by actor and international human rights activist Mike Farrell. He will share the platform with Pa. death row exoneree Harold Wilson. The title of the evening's program is "Dead Wrong: the Death Penalty in America." This event will be held in the Moot Court Room of the University of Pittsburgh Law School. For more information call 412-681-7864.

• This Saturday, Pittsburgh Mourns the Iraq casualties of the US's 5 year war in the Middle East. The event will begin with a 1:00 Rally at CMU's Sofware Engineering Institute located at 5th & Craig Street in Oakland. The March will leave SEI at 2:00 PM
