Ravenstahl is Rotten, They All Must Go!
by Pittsburgh Organizing Group Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007 at 3:15 PM

On Thursday, December 20, Luke Ravenstahl will be inaugurated as Mayor of the City of Pittsburgh. During his campaign, Luke promised 'Fresh Leadership' but we don't see anything fresh about this city government. The Ravenstahl administration has been in power for over a year and we still see the same racist cops on our streets, the same attacks on public transportation, and the same plans for gentrifying our neighborhoods.

We have seen what city government can do for us and we think the people in Pittsburgh can do better on our own. Decade after decade we've left the businessmen in their suits and ties in charge of our community; it's time to take our community back. We're sick of back room deals, political machines, racist development projects, and corporate interests.

We want money for public transportation, not for a hockey arena.

We want union jobs, not casinos.

We want racist cops off our streets.

We want affordable housing, not displacement and gentrification

On Thursday, December 20 we're going to let Luke and all of the other politicians know that we're not interested in letting them take control over our lives. We won't hand our community over to a gang of political hacks, no matter how old or how young. They're all rotten and they all must go!

We'll meet outside the Oakland Planning and Development Corporation (one of the private sector supporters of gentrification and police brutality) at 235 Atwood St. at 4:30 pm. Then we'll march to the Carnegie Music Hall where the inauguration is to be held. We'll picket outside for a short time before heading inside for the inauguration ceremony at 5:30 (the ceremony is open to the public).

Mayer Toiletstahl must go
by Jack Karcher Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009 at 9:44 AM

This guy is a cheat, liar, idiot, and an embarrasment to the city of Pittsburgh. If we don`t get him out of office, the FBI will soon. He thinks he is untouchable with his full time bodyguards (city policemen making 90,000 a year each), but everything will catch up with him soon. We need a mayor who is professional, mature, and capable of making the right decisions for our city of Pittsburgh.
