Freeing the MOVE 9 in 2008: MP3 Audio
by BE47 Thursday, Aug. 02, 2007 at 3:24 AM
ONAMOVELLJA@aol.com

MP3 audio of Ramona Africa's July 14 [Bastille Day!] talk in Harrisburg, PA. Ramona discussed the need for the MOVE 9 to receive parole in 2008 in Pennsylvania. And why they all need a new, fair trial. They have all served 29 years of their 30-100 year sentence. If not paroled in 2008, they may all serve another 70 years. Their sentencing judge has publicly admitted that he has no idea who shot the one bullet that they are all being held accountable for!

This is an MP3 version of her talk. It has already been posted to PBG IMC but people have reported having problems streaming the Quicktime audio version.

Ramona gives a very good short history of MOVE as well as a detailed explanation of what the MOVE 9 have been through, and are going through as they languish in Pennsylvania's dungeons. And she shares her revolutionary vision of a better world. A world not based on violence and domination. A world based on dignity and respect for all life.

Ramona is the only adult survivor of the 1985 illegal bombing of the MOVE home in Philadelphia. 6 adults and 5 children were incinerated, and 60 homes burnt to the ground that day. She escaped while in flames, being shot at and rescuing a child. The MOVE 9 were all victims of a similar police assault in 1978. One of the MOVE 9, Merle Africa, has already died in prison after not being with her children for 25 years. This is an amazing, horrifying story that we all need to be aware of...

A longer CD version of this event along with her answers to questions is also available. Contact Ramona at ONAMOVELLJA@aol.com to get the double CD, have her speak in your town, or help the MOVE 9 financially during this crucial time. Peace! Ona MOVE!
