On May 17th, 2006, approximately 25 bicyclists rode through the streets of Pittsburgh to honor those who have been injured or killed on public roadways. The route went through Oakland, Shadyside, Bloomfield, downtown, and the South Side. Bikers wore black armbands in remembrance, red armbands if they themselved had been injured while biking. Signs displaying the names and places of cyclists killed in western Pennsylvania were worn as well. The ride was slow-paced and silent, and lasted about two hours. Many thanks to all who rode!
