POG Call for "Resistance is Fertile" Contigent at M19

POG is calling for a contingent in the Anti-War Committees march and rally on March 19 that will have a critique of the systemic problems of which war is a mere symptom. Come join us to be beautiful and get rowdy and show that resistance is indeed fertile.

Resistance is Necessary! Resistance is Fertile!

On March 19, to mark the second anniversary of the invasion of Iraq, hundreds of groups nationwide are calling for a global day of action against war. In Pittsburgh, the Thomas Merton Center Anti-War Committee is sponsoring a rally and march from Squirrel Hill to Oakland, beginning at the corner of Forbes and Murray in Squirrel Hill at 2:30pm.

We, Pittsburgh Organizing Group (POG) will march together in a Resistance is Fertile contingent with a message directed not only against the war but against all violence and exploitation that perpetuates the Capitalist system. There can be no Peace as long as Capitalism forces human beings to compete with one another to live; as long as a select few make decisions to dictate the lives of others; and until there are no bosses to profit off the fruits of our labors.

There can be no Freedom for anyone while systematic oppression continues to exist. Ending this war, though necessary, will not end the system that created it. For true Peace and Freedom to exist we must end the society based on Capitalism, state power, and hierarchy. We must disarm authority, coercion, and wage slavery.

We will march together because we must. We draw inspiration from all areas and walks of life, from people all over the world who are resisting. To build better communities for all, our resistance must be as global as their capital. Together we can create a free society based on mutual aid, true direct and participatory democracy, and respect.

On M19 the Resistance is Fertile contingent will march with the message of radical critique of the system and calling for the joining of forces to create a new society. Bring your voices, drums, horns, and join us to show Pittsburgh that our Resistance exists!

Resistance is our duty, our obligation and our Right! Resistance is Fertile!
