Very Pathetic

These photos show the depraved defending the depraved. These "underscum" cry out about the RESULTS of their actions...crime that results in their shooting. There may be exceptions....cops who use excessive force, just like the exceptions in the scum-class population that are upstanding citizens. It is nice to see a "black-mask" person in the pictures too! I thought they would be spending all of their time getting ready for the riots after Bush wins the election. The pictures are ironic as well... the very object of protest (police) spending their time and money guarding the marchers. How comforting the protesters must find their situation..being able to protest in a free country and claim that they are "repressed". Well, if you commit a crime, then you and your actions are repressed. If you are part of a class of people that exhibit a statistical preponderance for committing crimes, then you should expect to be a suspect. If you resist arrest, then you should expect to be overwhelmed by force until your threat (perceived or real, it does not matter) is removed. Do not wave guns at police officers. Do not drive cars TOWARD police officers. Do not run from police officers. Understand that for all of your moralizing, preaching, and prayer, there is always something more powerful than you, and sometimes the only thing to do is supplicate in the face of it and live to make a difference another day.
Younger hotheads will balk at this advice, but they can only gain wisdom through experience. Become the stronger force and subdue the oppressors is a worthy goal, but it cannot be done by beating on buckets with spoons and carrying childish signs. Power only defeats power.

and how to build power is a very debatable point. you think that marching and banging buckets doesn't. I feel it, in combination with many other things, does and hence why I will continue to do so. that's where strategy comes in, seeing events in isolation does not give observers a complete picture of why groups or individuals are doing what they're doing. some groups articulate to outsiders their plans and some don't, some only do for specific campaigns, some don't.

regardless many people are pursuing plans that take into account
1: goals (what we want things to be like)
with a 2: specific strategy (how we want to get things from where they are to our goals)
that utilize 3: certain tactics (the pieces of events, actions, that we use to make up our strategy)

the police were not there to protect us. they were there to agitate people (as evidenced by the repeated running of motorcycles through the front left of the march and telling someone they were going to be the first arrested) and reinforce the perception that it is impossible to build up movements of active resistance. were they also there to protect corporate property? probably. had this been a different type of event we would have seen maybe 2 police at it to guide traffic in front of it as I assume the fact it was permitted would have opened the police up to liability if something had happened and they weren't there at all.

Yo George

I went to the O22 protests here in Houston because I hate brutality and unjustified violence, which is especialy disgusting comming from 'public servents' like law enforcement. I as a white male am not generally threated by police officers, outside of protest scenarios, which are voluntary on my part. However police in Houston have a tendency to kill unarmed youth of color all the time in Houston. In the last year the HPD killed 3 teenagers. one 19, was robing a vending machine (undoubtedly a capitol offence worthy of immediate execution), one 15 was crusing by a movie theater and deemed suspicious by a cop who shot him point-blank in the head. 3 weeks later, a cop killed a 14 year old with mental retardation after being called into an apartment complex to deal with a fight between a differnt group of youths. Your statement about certain 'classes' of society being more likely to commit crime and recive police repression is whats know as racism, and is unjust.

violence and deprevation of ones right shouldt be tolerated, especialy from bullies like law enforcement officials. We gotta stand up to them.
