Protest the VP Debates in Cleveland, Oct. 5
by Don't Just Vote! Monday, Sep. 20, 2004 at 11:53 PM
anarcha@gmail.com

Join us in the city of burning rivers on Oct. 5 for Cleveland's first "major" protest in a long while.

While Cleveland was recently named the "poorest major city in the US", two of the richest people in the country will be debating the finer points of imperialism at the Vice-Presidential Debates. Cleveland's activist community is currently undergoing a massive mobilization to protest our lack of options in the upcoming election. In the past we've joined our comrades in D.C., Pittsburgh, Phila, N.Y., Chi-town, and elsewhere, and now we're calling out to our regional allies to join us in Clevo so we can send a clear message to our political "leaders" and the nation.

Case Western, the university hosting the event, has already littered the campus with undercovers and countless uniformed cops, and will be building a "free speech zone". Meanwhile, several organizers have been harrassed and stalked by our friends at the FBI. We strongly encourage our friends in Pittsburgh to help show Cleveland that it's activists are not alone, and have support from people across the country. Although we're expecting about a thousand, our numbers will significantly effect our choice of strategy.

Try to keep the school name straight
by John Yossarian Tuesday, Sep. 28, 2004 at 9:56 PM

The school is Case Western Reserve University. Not Case Western. How would you feel if we refered to Harvard as "Harv" or Stanford as "Stan". It just doesn't make sense.

Even if you haven't heard of us doesn't mean you can't be courteous to us.

Who Cares?

Is this a joke? I've been going to Case (that's right, everyone i know that goes there just calls it "case"; in fact, the school itself calls the vp debates "the race at case") for several years, and i've yet to meet anyone who cares what shorthand is used for the school, nevertheless finding it disrespectful. the above posting was, in fact, written by a Case student.

you're waaaaaaaaay too easily offended.

what a coincidence! i was just watching a news story about "the race at case" on FOX, and when they showed the campus the caption said "Case Western". 2 minutes later, they referred to it as simply "CWRU"! Those bastards! Somebody call the cops!

I happened to come across this site when searching for an audio file that my son could listen too. You know...so he can see the differenct between sane (Cheney) and typical crazy "twist the truth to benefit my client and me" lawyer.

Man, you people are freaking NUTS. How about taking responsibility for your own actions and stop blaming others??? Graduate, get a job, and live in the real world for a while.
