The Rachel Corrie Memorial Massacre

For this we can thank terror advocate turned accident victim, Rachel Corrie, and her legion of misguided supporters. Yassar Arafat and the PA have again proven themselves incapable of fostering peace or administering a sovereign government.
Remember Rachel Corrie, the mixed-up 23-year-old hippie-chick from Olympia, Wash., whose hobbies included playing in traffic and burning the American flag. She stood in front of an Israeli bulldozer, but was in the driver's blind spot and was accidentally crushed to death.
Corrie's fatal game of chicken was the product of malice as well as idiocy. Her goal was to promote Palestinian terrorists' murderous campaign against Jews by obstructing Israeli efforts to destroy tunnels that are used to smuggle weapons and explosives from Egypt into the Palestinian "refugee camp" in Rafah, on the Gaza Strip.
A terrorist group known as the Popular Resistance Committee has issued a confession to this week’s murder of three Americans in the Gaza strip. The Popular Resistance Committee is a rough miscellany of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and Fatah dropouts, who merged to form a purely military group with the aim of fighting the IDF [Israeli Defense Forces] and launching attacks on settlements in the Gaza Strip.
The attack this week by Palestinian terrorists murdered at least three Americans on the Gaza Strip. And where did the Palestinian terrorist’s bombs come from? To Gaza via the same tunnels that Terror Advocate, Rachel Corrie, gave her life defending.
In an interview last year with The Jerusalem Post, the Popular Resistance Committee’s shadowy spokesman, Abu Adnan, explained how the group acquires the explosives necessary to blow up a tank or, as in the case of Wednesday's bombing, a heavily armored car.
"We get the material using three methods," he said. "We smuggle it into Gaza; we trade mostly with Israelis, but also with the Egyptians. We also manufacture the material here, and sometimes we steal it from Israeli army bases."
Corrie died trying to obstruct Israeli efforts to destroy tunnels that were used for just such smuggling of weapons into Gaza. Ha'aretz [ http://www.haaretzdaily.com/hasen/spages/350727.html ] reports Yasser Arafat's Palestinian Authority itself may have been involved with the smuggling: The Shin Bet security service released Thursday that it had arrested Palestinian Authority official Akram Tubasi in September on suspicion of buying weapons in Egypt and smuggling them into the Gaza Strip." (Arafat won a Nobel Peace Prize in 1994.)
Ha'aretz notes that among the members of the Popular Resistance Committee are "former Palestinian security officials," which raises an interesting question: Did the CIA train the terrorists who attacked a convoy that included CIA officials? An editorial in London's Telegraph notes:
The attack in Gaza should prompt a reappraisal of CIA training of Palestinian security personnel, which constitutes a critical plank of the Oslo process. The Palestinian Authority's complex apparatus is so riddled with Islamist infiltrators--some of whom may have tipped off the terrorists on the whereabouts of the American convoy--as to raise serious questions about whether it is a genuine partner for peace. 'Human Waste' Cloud Forces Residents Inside
Pile Of Waste Spontaneously Ignites

WINTER GARDEN, Fla. -- Hazardous material crews are still monitoring a giant, smoldering pile of human waste that spontaneously caught fire at a fertilizer plant this weekend, according to Local 6 News.
Firefighters were called to Diamond R Fertilizer building, located at 321 Hennis Road, after a passerby noticed smoke coming from the building Sunday.
Investigators believe the 10- to 20-ton pile of sludge -- which is used to make organic fertilizer -- created enough internal heat to ignite on its own.
Authorities said that the "human waste" cloud is not a serious health risk, but did recommend people stay inside.
"We asked all the people that are in the down-wind area of this cloud to stay inside, close windows and use air conditioning to minimize the product into the house," Winter Garden Fire Chief John Williamson said.
Local 6 News reported that the pile of sludge was from New York.

It's your life- you're perfectly free to choose between participating and making a difference, and just sitting around and bitching about how other people/institutions suck. First off, "Ewan/Irving/Yassir" are not a "crew". "Crew" implies that we have the ability to work together. If anything we are more of a "gaggle" and only fly in formation when opportunity presents itself or necessity dictates. Besides, I am not certain that Ewan is even part of the gaggle or crew. He is a little too left of center and at least three standard deviations outside the mean on the "tightlywrapped" scale.
Now to the posting at issue -- Yes, I too had thought that you Editorial types had taken some position on this promotion of personal attacks stuff. My point was nnot to promote a personal attack (which I would never do) but to point out that it seems AOK with the IMC to post stuff like this if it is directed at certain groups, but if it is directed at other more PC favored groups around IMC then it will get the editorial ire. The "shoot a Jew" statement (again, please don't even think that this is what I am encouraging) is directly from other postings on this site by a person supporting the Palestinian cause and encouraging the destruction of Israel. That posting has been allowed to stay, and as Yassir D. pointed up, the Editors do not seem to get worked up about that. They only get worked up when one of the "crew" post those things.
Once again, this is a fine example of the lack of fitness for any editorial positino of the IMC editors. But more importantly, it is another example of the ignorance of the IMC to things like satire and pop culture. I thought for sure the Cheech Marin statement would be a dead give away that I was not promoting the murder of anyone, but rather pointing out the inconsistencies of IMC. (BTW: Cheech Marin, the other half of Cheech and Chong. Chong, you know. Tommy Chong. He was famous before he got busted in Pitttsburgh for selling bongs.)
As to whetehr it was me or an imposter, I must note that there appear to be about three people (at elast two for sure) posting under the Irv The Nirv name. This is a recent phenomenon around here where people post under the names of others. It does make it a little confusing. Maybe the "crew" needs a little more order. I miss 2beers. I had posted earlier this evening a calender item about the planned 2004 Rightminded Thinkers Planning Committee meeting which was to be this week in Pittsburgh. The IMC editors removed it without discussion or explaination within the past three hours.
Now how is anyone going to know about this important and timely event. Hell, if you don;t want to go, then don;t go. but don't deny others the right and opportunity to participate.
You say that this is an open newswire, but you know it is your private club. That is why your tax exempt status should be revoked.
