DESCRIPTION
Come to a “Pep rally for public transit” When: Wednesday, June 29, 2005 from 11:45AM till 12:45 PM Where: State Office Building, 300 Liberty Ave. Downtown Pittsburgh (Near Point State Park) Why: • Because we want to show those who run the state, county and city how much we need (& love?) our public transit. • Because public transit in PA still does not have the dedicated and reliable funding that it needs to keep going. • Because our public transit is only running right now because of emergency band aid funding that is hurting rural road and bridge repairs. • Because our forked tongued law makers said that they would have dedicated funding for public transit by the end of the fiscal year which is at midnight on June 30. • AND because our state law makers still refuse to do anything, on June 30 the Southwest PA Commission will once again be asked to flex more federal highway money over to keep public transit running. So if you: • Ride public transit to get to your job. • Ride public transit to get to the store. • Ride public transit to get to the park. • Ride public transit to get to the library. • Ride public transit to get to the doctor. • Ride public transit when you go to visit family, friends and loved ones. • Ride public transit when you are going out to have some fun. • Ride public transit so that you can have a life… Then join fellow public transit riders on June 29, 2005 at the State Office Building at 11:45AM and tell your state law makers to pass legislation NOW that will keep our buses and light rail running. Unite and fight for excellent public transit. It’s good for us. It’s good for the whole state. For more information contact: SAVE OUR TRANSIT No More Service Cuts! No More Fare Hikes! 5125 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15224 412-361-3022 www.saveourtransit.org
