Pittsburghers continue opposition to Iraq war as evidence of deception mounts

A [Image]banner drop greeted rush hour commuters on Monday, August 11th, one more signal that resistance to the war on Iraq is not dead in Pittsburgh.

A group of Pittsburghers [Audio]gathered Sunday to remember the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki by American forces 58 years ago, and also to remember a more recent history: the four-month old claims that "weapons of mass destruction" were an immediate threat to America that launched the war on Iraq. Evidence that those claims were recklessly exaggerated has put the British PM in the most dangerous political situation of his career and has led some American congresspeople to call for an official investigation.

"Stop the War and Occupation" is the call of the Pittsburgh Organizing Group. They plan to gather with a few hundred of their favorite friends on August 24th on Schenley Park's Flagstaff Hill to express their dissent. [PDF]You are invited.
