City, OSHA Still Need to Act on Worker Safety Issues, Police Violence
08/11/2003
A year and a half after the February 2002 death of Paul Corsi in the Pittsburgh Convention Center truss collapse, results of the District Atttorney's "closed investigation" into that death have yet to be released. Are industrial injuries being handled appropriately by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the City of Pittsburgh?

At the same time, District Attorney Zappalla is being called on to file charges against City Police for the Dec 21st 2002 death by asphyxiation of Charles Dixon, which occured during an encounter with police that involved a police "pileup" on Dixon, according to witnesses. Charges have not yet been filed despite County Coroner Cyril Wecht calling the death a homicide.
