PAT announces 27% reduction in service, 43% increase in fares
Faced with a lack of State funding, Port Authority implemented a Plan D for transit:
Phase 1 - base fair raised to $2, effective 1 February.Cuts back on service by 12% (eliminated several routes and reduced frequency for others)
Phase 2 - base fair raised to $2.50, effective 15 July. Additional service cuts of 15%.

Steve Donahue says that given that the state has failed to come through with the money, "This is about the best we can hope for."
